Asking for help is the most vulnerable thing a person can do, but also the most important step in making a positive change in one’s life. My role in your journey to wellness is to provide the safe space in which you can freely express yourself while feeling accepted, validated, and understood. It is important to me to create trusting, deeply empathetic relationship to facilitate transformation you desire.

I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from Loyola University, and my graduate degree from University of Chicago. For the past 20 years I have worked in multiple mental health settings, like psychiatric hospital, conducted clinical research studies at both Northwestern University and Lurie Children’s hospital, and worked in private practice. I also spent few years staying home with my children, which allowed for my greatest self-growth as a woman and as a wife, and as a mother. These diverse settings have informed my work with clients.

I enjoy interacting the most with children (7-18), adults, couples and families. I have experience working with woman’s issues, body image issues, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, transition and adjustment difficulties, anger and behavioral issues in men and boys. I am particularly passionate working with parents and families negotiating individual needs within the roles each has in a family as well as helping couples who are seeking to strengthen their marital bond while building more functional relationship with their children.

I am bilingual (I speak all dialects of previous Serbo-Croatian language) and in my work I utilize culturally sensitive strategies informed by positive psychology, attachment theory, and neuroscience. I am grounded in client centered approach, psychodynamic theory, and utilize mindfulness practices.

I look forward to being part of your journey of prioritizing your needs and working with you on what you find to be most important.
