Sarah Wahab

LCSW, Psychotherapist

Many of us reach a point where we feel feel stuck in our lives or our relationships. We realize that what we have done in the past to manage stress, to cope, to heal, to move forward is no longer working the way it used to and we need new strategies.

As an individual and family therapist who has worked for 5+ years in two diverse metropolitan areas (New York and Chicago), my work with individuals and families has focused on conflictual family relationships, chronic medical illness, identity exploration, domestic violence, child and adolescent mental health issues, social skills challenges, grief, loss, and other life traumas.

In our work together, we will collaboratively create a space that is based on dignity and respect. Our sessions will focus on understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behavior within the context of your relationships and your life. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I take a strengths-based, body-centered, therapeutic approach to our work and select personalized strategies that best support my client’s needs. My training has centered in the areas of CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Narrative Therapy, Intersectional Identity Exploration, Collaborative Helping, Mindfulness, Social Thinking, and Trauma-Informed strategies.

Whether your goals are to feel less anxiety, relieve stress, regain emotional balance, gain self confidence, have better relationships, increased ability to set boundaries, or gain tools to cope better in your day to day, therapy can help. I look forward to collaborating with you on your journey.
