AJ Carlson

MA, LPC, Psychotherapist

Pronouns: She/They

As human beings, we all have a need to be seen, heard, and understood. Our relational needs are particularly important when in a place of struggle. As your therapist, I will strive to hold space, offer safety and relational connection as you reimagine and change your relationship with Self, others, and the world around.

I am experienced and passionate about working with individuals who have survived trauma, dealt with substance use and eating disorders, live with anxiety, panic, and depression, interpersonal and internal conflict, grief, shame, codependence, racial and LGBTQA+ identity work, and life transitions.

I have helped others develop skills related to relapse prevention and harm reduction, emotional regulation, increasing tolerance for stress and uncertainty, mindfulness and internal resourcing as well as crisis management and intervention.

Outside of formal training, I have found that nature, dogs, music, long walks, silence, laughter, imperfections, and tears are some of the greatest healers. It would be an honor to join you as you discover your own ways to renovate in the work that lies ahead.
