As we navigate life, we may be faced with challenges that impede our ability to show up in the world as our best selves. Life can feel anything but secure in these moments, which may have us questioning everything. I believe that therapy can help us face these challenges with more clarity and understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
I believe that the process of healing can look different for everyone, so I value eclectic styled therapy, which allows each individual access to treatment that feels right for them. I am primarily grounded in person-centered, psychodynamic, and relational theories, however, I integrate various therapies such as cognitive behavioral approaches, play therapy, and art therapy, to respond best to each client’s needs. Essentially, I hold the belief that our past relationships and experiences play a significant role into who we become in the present. This approach involves a process of getting to know our past to respond better to life in the present.
My past experiences have involved work with BIPOC youth, but I am open to working with individuals of all ages and identities. I strive to incorporate intersecting identities such as race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status into the therapeutic space to promote culturally competent work and healing.
Finding the right therapist can feel incredibly daunting, so I want to commend you for beginning this process and for considering me to be a part of your journey. It is imperative that I create a warm and accepting relationship with my clients based on trust and shared commitment to reaching your personal goals. My goal is not to take the driver seat in your life, but rather to be welcomed into the passenger seat as a guide into beautiful healing.
