SHANTEL WOLFE
MA, Psychotherapist
Therapy with me is a space to practice self-acceptance, challenge expectations that no longer fit, and find answers that feel true to who you are. As a relational, client-centered therapist, I encourage you to be the expert on your own life and meet you with a blend of lighthearted authenticity and directness.
Because I’m a yoga teacher and therapist who believes in the healing power of somatic work, I offer movement, meditation, mindfulness, and attention to bodily sensations during sessions. This can be helpful for those who feel stuck in fight-or-flight or frustrated by reactions that don't align with how they want to show up in relationships.
I welcome individuals and couples exploring sexuality and intimacy, including those experiencing disconnection from desire, pleasure, or sexual expression. I also work with out-of-control sexual behaviors (OCSB) from a harm-reduction approach rather than traditional “sex addiction” models. My practice is sex-positive, kink-affirming, and welcoming of all relationship structures.
Additional specialities include neurodivergence, gender identity, burnout, and relational communication. My work is primarily informed by Somatic Experiencing (SE), Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Nonviolent Communication and attachment theory. With couples, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method.
